Publishing A Form Question...

F

Frank J. Hannaford

My forms are all SQL database-driven. I have a form based
on a table that includes information derived from other /
child tables.

When I go to publish the form, and go to select columns
for the sharepoint library where it is going to, choices
listed include all the data elements (fields) of
the 'parent' form, along with 'folders' labeled for
the 'child' datasets. There does not seem to be a way to
open these folders in order to see / choose data elements
associated with 'child' datasets.

My presumption is that columns in sharepoint need to come
from the 'parent'...that I cannot choose a data element
from a 'child'.

I need to know if my presumption is true, or if there is a
way to include dataelements from any / all datasets
associated with a form as columns in sharepoint library.

Any advice welcome.

My experience has been that you can only promote data from the Main DOM of
the InfoPath form. Secondary Data Sources are not available. If you have
child nodes in your Main DOM you should be able to promote those *unless*
they are repeating. Property promotion in Sharepoint is *flat* - that is
where the limitation exists.

Hope that helps.
