Publishing Custom Fields

In MS project 2003 Pro, I have a project with standard fields
Outline Number, Task Name, Duration, Start, Finish, etc.

I've added a custom field (Text) with values assigned to each task.

When I publish the Project, this field does not publish. What am I
missing here?

Have you added the custom field you want to publish in the client
(under tools/customize/published fields)? You must do this for every
project schedule that you want the values to show.
