Publishing delays with Project Server 2002 SP1

I applied SP1 patch to the Project Server "2002" instance.
I am noticing that the publish time for a 200 task project
with 10 resources has skyrocketed to 5 minutes. Prior to
SP1, it was less than a minute.

All the client components are updated to MDAC2.7 Refresh1,
Windows XP Web components (Version 10.0.6619.0) and MS
Project Professional 2002 SP1 (10.0.8326.0).

The processing on client side seems to be heavy. Project
Pro shows a dialogbox that gives 3 options "Switch
to", "Retry" and "Cancel". The Spooler also seems
unavailable and shows "Working".

I am not able to figure out what is the problem. I would
appreciate any help.
