I have a number of MS-Word templates (Office 2003) that contain file property
fields and supporting usability macros. I want to be able to post these
templates on our company intranet web page, but have come upon some
resistance - I suspect propagated by lack of knowledge. Can a template be
published on a web site so that when the link is clicked it will open in Word
the same way the template would open were it being opened from my local hard
drive? When opened locally, fields such as Create Date and Author are
pre-populated from the system. I would like those fields to be pre-populated
when the template is opened from the web page as well. Many of the templates
also contain macros attached to buttons that I need to have active as well.
Is this possible? Is there some special content management software that
must be purchased to make it possible?
