Publishing prob - Publish Dest'n screen won't change to a new doma

Using FP2002, the Publish Destination screen won't accept a change to a new
domain. I have successfully published to 4 other domains. After entering new
http info and O.K., it comes back "A web doe snot exists at [http:mydomain].
Would you like FP to create a web at that locattion. I click OK and get
"Unable to open [http[mydomain]. Possible causes: (1) Web server may not have
the FP extensions installed, (2) The webserver may be temporarily out of
service (3) If you're connecting through a proxy server... (4) An error may
have occurred at the server. I don't use a proxy server, I check - extensions
installed; server has no problems. Can anyone help?? I can't go any further
when I click OK; it takes me back to the Pub Dest'n screen. Thanks!!

You can not create a web at a remote location. You need to wait up to 72 hours for a new domain to
be available, and the new domain must be registered on the server you are trying to publish to, etc.

Thanks Thomas! I think it's been 72 hours since my server registered the
domain for me (w/ their server) - in response to my uploading problem they
say everything is working at their end: extensions installed. Their tech guy
could access the domain at their end w/ his FP (or FTP??) when I gave
username and p-word. Perhaps I should wait another day or two, just in case.
Any other possibilities if what you've said is in place??

Make sure you are using the format in File Open Site: http://www.mydomain.com/

Problem solved: After hours poking arouind in FP "Help" I found "Networks"
and tried "Put a web site on the Internet right away" and followed it as if I
was creating a new website. This allowed me to specify the location of the
new web (http://myserver/mydomain/FPwebfilename - which then allowed me to
input username and password before it was successfully uploaded. Everything
went smoothly from there when I uploaded my already created. Also also made
sure my server and domain were placed in Exceptions in my proxy tab. Somehow
I was able to bypass the Publication Destination screen problem (wouldn't
allow me to enter a new destination).
