i had my website up and running when a friend suggested entering meta tags.
he sent me his html code, that i changed for my specific info. i'm not sure
what i did, but now my "header" info at the top of the page, which included 4
images and two navigation bars, are now missing from all the pages. when i
view it in the preview browser, everything is fine (the code includes the
bars and images as well), but when I save it, FrontPage changes the code back
to no images and no navigation bars, and when it gets published all that info
is missing. I don't want to start all over, any ideas on what I can do to
salvage the site.

Thanks,
Rick

what i "tried" to do was add keywords to my website by pasting in html text
a friend of mine created for his website. i tried pasting it into the first
few lines where the existing code referred to meta names that front page had
created. i'm not sure what i did, but when i go to my website, the top part
of my page is gone. the 4 images i had as well as the navigation bars are
all gone (and they're gone in all of the pages on my website). but what's
strange to me is, when i go to Front page and view it in the "view in
browser", everything is there. if i view the source code while looking at it
in "view in browser", it shows the images and navigation bars. but if i go
to the website and view the source code, there is nothing there about the
images or the navigation bar. i've even went so far as to copy the code from
the "view in browser" mode which has the missing elements, and try to paste
it on the design view of FrontPage. but when i go to save it, the code
returns back to the original with the images and navigation bar missing.
sorry for the rambling, hopefully someone can surmise soemthing i've done
wrong that could easily be fixed.
Thanks,
Rick

Shared borders and Include Pages are design time tools w/ the content (inside the <BODY> tags) of the Shared Border or Include page
"embedded" or included as html in your pages when you save any of the file(s) using them (or save the borders / include pages
themselves)

FP converts your page(s) to a series of tables to include the Shared borders, (which are really just a special case of Include
pages)
But FP can not build those tables if either your shared border page content or main page content has illegal html or broken tag
pairs
- usually due to missing </body></html> tags, or unmatched table / cell tags (unclosed table / cell tags), or some other unclosed
html block element

If you can see them using File Preview in Browser they will publish in as part of your pages

If you can't see them using File Preview in Browser, it's because FP can not build the included content tables, so you need to
validate and correct your broken html

That's what's strange. everything looks and views fine when i'm in File View
in Browser, but when i go ahead and publish the site, the code is no longer
there and the images and navigation bar are not there. i don't know enough
to understand why it would be ok in File View in Browser but when the site is
published, the four images and navigation bars are gone (and when i view the
code it's no longer there). so unfortunately i have published it but the
file did not keep the info it once had when i was in File View in Browser.
I've even copied the html code while viewing it in File View in Browser. It
contains html code calling for the images and navigation bars. But when I
paste and overwrite the existing code without that info and try and save it,
FrontPage resorts back to the original code w/o that info. Sorry if i'm
talking in circles, I just hope theres something that can be done before i
have to redo my whole website.

Thanks,
rick
