Publishing Projects in 2003

Users Simply save projects to the Project Server and they
are automatically published to our Project Web Access
Executive and Manger Dashboard views. Tasks are not
published to resources until a PM does so, however,
Project plans that may be a work in progress, not ready to
be published, are still visible in Project Web Access
Project Center Views.

Is there a way to to not have Projects viewable in the
Project Center view until the PM physically does
the "Publish"?

Hi Chris,

Whenever a project is checked in, a call is made to publish the plan
regardless of the options set and/or whether or not you physically publish.

As a suggestion, work in offline mode and when you are ready to publish (or
check-in) your project, simply save it back online, close or publish the
plan.

Byron

Chris:

Another alternative is to use a custom field, say Enterprise Project Flag 1
and call it "public." Have the PMs set the value accordingly Y/N. Set your
views filters in the Project Center accordingly.
