As a basic IT craft tutor for the last 5 years I have lots of session plans
which include Microsoft Word screenshots, I would like to put all of these
together within a series of manuals that I can publish and sell.
Do I need permission for this from Microsoft? I have read the terms etc for
the use of screenshots for instruction and, as far as I can tell, as long as
I acknowledge the programme etc it should be OK without having to pay for
licencing etc. But they go along to say that I would not be allowed to
alter the screenshot except for minimising, enlarging. Does that mean that
each box, or shot of a toolbar needs to be shown within a full screen shot?
I would appreciate any help at all, from someone who has already published
an instruction manual, with the legalities of publishing instruction manuals
which include screenshots from Microsoft Word.
