Publishing Server Error

P

Pogue

I host through GoDaddy.com and have enabled the Frontpage Server extensions.
However, often when I try to publish an update to my site I get a message:

Unable to open www.gooroojoey.com
Server error
Possible causes
1. Frontpage extensions not installed (they are)
2. Web server out of service (it isn't)
3. Proxy settings incorrect if through a proxy server. (I go through
Roadrunner straight to GoDaddy...)
4. Error in the web server.

How do I resolve this?

Thanks for your help

Yes.

Weird thing, it worked about 10 minutes later, then 10 minutes after that I
got the same error message. It is intermittent and clearly a behind the
scenes error.

Thanks for the help,
Joe

All,
For future reference, here is how GoDaddy instructed me to correct this issue:

Discussion Notes
Support Staff Response
Dear Joe,

Thank you for contacting Customer Support in regards to your account. I do
apologize for any inconvenience. According to the WhoIs Database, your domain
is not pointing to the proper nameservers. If you are using our hosting
services, you will need to use our Default Hosting Nameservers. To modify
your nameservers, please use the following instructions:

First, log into your account:

.. Go to the Go Daddy Account Login Page
.. Log in using your account username (which may be the same as your customer
number) and password

If you have trouble logging in, our password reset form may help you. You
can find this form through the following link:
Account Retrieval Page

Once logged in just follow these steps:

.. Select 'Manage Domains' from the 'Domain Names' menu at the top of the page.
.. Check the box next to the domain(s) you wish to modify.
.. Click the 'Set Name Servers' button above the list of domains.
.. If you have selected multiple domains click the 'Click here to Enable
Fields' link under the warning that appears to the right.
.. Select the 'Default Hosted Name Servers' option.
.. Click on the green 'Save Changes' button.

Propagation Note:

Changes to the settings of a domain take up to 48 hours to become effective
because of the number of networks involved, and because these networks are
controlled by several different agencies. This delay applies to all domains
with any Registrar, not just Go Daddy. Please allow for this delay when
planning web sites or configuring a domain to work with your services.
