Publishing to Comcast

Karen

Anyone else publish web pages using the space Comcast gives its users? I
have a family web site that I have published for months using Frontpage 2000
without any problem. I recently wanted to publish another site to one of my
other email addresses with Comcast but it says I do not have the
authorization to 'Author pages'. I have used Comcast's instant support
which wasn't instant or support. Before I get on the line with them, I
wondered if there was anyone out there who had experienced this same thing.
Thanks for your time.

This is one of the error messages I have been getting.

You need to contact your host as you do not have the correct permissions.

Thanks Thomas. I am on hold with them right now. It is just wierd that I
have published exactly the same way to two different email addresses but
this one will not go through. Why would I have different permissions
anyhow?

Well they were no help. Kept trying to tell me that the error was with
frontpage. I was able to use their utility to publish an index page to the
same address, but I cannot figure out why frontpage would publish to two
different sites through them but not this particular one. Oh well - the
quest goes on.

I haven't had any problems publishing to several e-mail addresses.

Does the other e-mail address have Personal Web Pages enabled?
Are you publishing using https? https://home.comcast.net/~username
Are you sure you supplied the correct name (name must be lower case) and
password for the e-mail address?

Yes to all those questions. PWP is showing active. I can log in to that
account, check mail, etc... no problem with password. I even used their
site builders to do a quick template to see if I could publish through them
and it worked. So i am back to square one trying to figure out why
frontpage will publish to two other email addresses but not to this one. It
acts like I am entering the wrong password or don't have the correct
credentials. I am using https. I have even tried to do a detect and repair
on frontpage just in case - and it did not finish. Got an error there too.
