Publishing to Shares

We've recently set up shared folders on each of our webs
on a dedicated server. When attempting to publish to
these shares, we receive the following error message:

"The Folder '\25.233.23.35\share' is contained by a server
based web. To access the web you must use the http:// url
for the server."

Is there any way around this?

You cannot create file based webs on a web server. Create subwebs rather than file shares.
