Publishing to web

when I go to Publish Pages and select Single File Web Page and then select
my Web host and the proper file for publishing directly to it I get "OneNote
has encountered a problem and cannot complete this operation"

I can save it as a Web Page to my Desktop open it with Word then have Word
save it as a Web Page and put it directly up on my site as an .mht file with
no problem.

The error message gives me nothing to go on.

I have tried to solve this problem buy using all resources on the
microsoft.com web site, knowledge base etc, and still cannot find a solution.

When I go the Publish Pages..., On the File menu, then select my connection
to my web host (as the, the save In) and the, Save as type is “Single File
Web Page" and click Publish I get the following message "OneNote has
encountered a problem and cannot complete this operation". I have tried this
with the Fire Wall off and my anti-virus monitor off and still get the same
problem...(also OneNote is an exception on my Fire Wall).

What I can do is select Save as, and choose a save as type "Single File Web
Page" and then choose to save it to my Desktop take this file and Open it
with Word 2003 and then Publish it to my Web Host,
Or, take the file on my Desktop and then use this file and transfer it to my
Web host using FileZilla and it publishes to my web site with no problems.

Are you by any chance trying to publish this to an FTP server? OneNote
does not support saving to FTP servers, so if that is the case you'll
have to save it to your local hard drive first, and then upload it to
the server using some other program.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,

My only question is why doesn't it support publishing to FTP servers?
