Publishing w/ FP 2002 in Win XP on a Network

I have a user with Win XP Pro and FP 2002 that is trying to publish
their web site to the server and is having a devil of a time. We are a
school and have a Windows 2000 server network with FPSE 2002
installed. When we publish with FP 2000 on a 98 machine we use the
following http addresses:

http://www.linwoodschools.org/usersfoldername
Then user name and password.

On FP 2002 in Win XP Pro, we do the same thing but the log in box
comes up again and it adds the domain to the users name.

For example : linwoodschools.org\username.
It will not allow us to publish and I am stuck. Any ideas? Our
teachers are clammering for an answer.

1. Open the Web site in question.
2. Choose Server from the Tools menu, and then Permissions.
3. Click Manage users and make sure the domain accounts
in question have access.

I experienced the same problem. The solution was simply a
matter of discovering that the web administrator had
chanaged the password allowing access to the server. When
you are trying to fill in the user name and password
check to see in the window behind the sign in window
whether or not you can see Destination To: blank filled
in with the correct URL. If not, it probably supports
former statement that you are not using correct password.

Jim,
Thanks for the quick reply! I tried you r suggested fix with no luck.
Our URL domain is linwoodschools.org but our server name is DC4 on the
network. I tried using dc4\username with no luck either. It won't even
let me use my admin. log in and password to publish.

This is really puzzling. All our new systems are going to be XP with
FP 2002 and all of our teahcers have websites that need to be
published too!!

Anyother ideas?

Thanks,
Frank

Have you tried these forms?

linwoodschools.org\username
linwoodschools\username
(e-mail address removed)

Have you viewed NTFS permissions directly on the server?
