Can you publish a web created in FP to a host that does not have FP
extensions?

My ISP gives me free web space, but it states it does not have FP
extensions.

Thanks,

Don

Hi Don,

I have never tried it, but I suspect that you can. There will be a bunch of
differences that you will need to do properly.

Some of the FrontPage options will not work without the FrontPage extensions
installed on the host server. You will have to find out which ones. Trial
and error may be the way you find out which ones don't work.

You will use ftp rather than http. The index page will have a different
extension, etc.

If it were me, I would pay the $5.00 per month that it costs for a regular
host and get your site working like you want it. Then try to FTP it to that
free space you have and experiment until it works there.

Thanks Jon,

You're right, with all the low cost web hosts out there, I'll just cough
up the $5 - $10 a month and save myself a lot of time and aggravation.

I believe most of the hosts will also register your domain name for you,
some of them do it for free if you pay yearly instead of monthly.

Hi Don,
If you want cheap and works well with FrontPage, I use 4Dwebhosting for
hosting and Joker.com for registering domain names.
