Pull-down menu problems

I use Microsoft Office for the Mac, and have a Word
problem. Suddenly, Most of the pull-down menus no longer
work. When I go to Preferences, the application always
quits because an Error of Type 2 occurs. I've tried
allocating more memory, to no avail. Any suggesti

Hi GVolk,

Please always state your OS and Office/Word version numbers!! I assume
you're in Word 2001? To fix your menu problems, see here:

As for the Type 2 error, how did you increase memory and to what? Here's
the procedure: Navigate to the Word application in the Finder, select it
and Get Info (Command i). Go to the Memory pane and raise Word's Preferred
memory to 48000K (leave Minimum memory alone). Also, be sure Virtual Memory
is turned on (Control Panels> Memory).
