Pull resource usage from multiple project plans

john

I am using Microsoft project 2007, and want to pull resource usage
data from multiple project plans in more or less automated way.

I don't know much about how to access MS Project database, if
possible. Can someone help?

Thanks

John

Simplest way is to build a new consolidated plan by inserting each project
into a new blank project with the link option OFF. This automatically
consolidates resource data. Try recording a macro of you doing this manually
to get the code.

Thanks, Rod.

I just had time to look into this again. I tried and pulled two
projects together by inserting both a empty master project plan. I
then standardized the resource name by looking up Active Directory
using outlook link. However, the software didn't consolidate the
tasks across two projects under a same resource.

Did I do some wrong here?

Thanks again,

John

Consolidation only happens during project insertion. Any changes afterwards
have no effect. Make sure all Resource Names are correct before
consolidating.
