Pulsing document when white space is hidden

Has anyone had a problem in Word 2007 of having the screen/document pulse
rapidly when hidden white space is on? It's sporadic but I've had it occur in
a few different documents. If yes, any cause? It does stop when I ago back to
show white space but it's very annoying.
