purchased Computer & Software but never received ID# for Software

Silke

Hello,

I hope somebody can help me, please. A couple years ago,
I purchased a computer with Microsoft Office 97 Small
Business Edition. The Company where we purchase the
computer from came out and installed all the software,
but they never gave us the ID# for it. I called the
company and they don't have that number eather. They say
it should be on the CD case. But it isn't. So is it true,
that I cannot reload the software without the number or
is there any source where to find out what my number is.
Please can somebody help me with that. Thank you so much

Yes it's true. Microsoft cannot - and, indeed, will not - assist you with
OEM issues, that is up to the OEM from which you purchased the software. If
they cannot assist you then you cannot reinstall the software. You can,
however, use that as a qualifying product for an upgrade, assuming that
you're going to be using Office on the same system that Office 97 was
supplied with.

Download KeyFinder from www.magicaljellybean.com. It will display both your

Sorry if I misunderstood the OP. I thought the software WAS installed. Guess
I'll have to give any thoughts of infallibility so getting elected Pope is out
of the question!
