Purchasing Office Pro 03 on a Student/Teacher trial version

What steps are needed on a preinstalled student/teacher addition to upgrade
to the new Pro 03 version?

You cannot upgrade a trial edition, you would need to purchase a full 2003
Professional edition. (Note - you cannot use a STE for upgrading under
retail circumstances either.)

Before installing the full Pro edition, remove the trial from Add/Remove
programs, reboot for good measure and then install.

Does the same advice (uninstall / reboot) apply in the case of someone
moving from a (non-trial) STE to a full edition?

Not really - the advice to uninstall the trial takes care of the timebomb in
trial versions that has arisen to bite people who installed without taking
off the trial version. Installing a full Pro version over a full STE
edition should not be a problem.

Thanx, Milly
A copy of one note is part of my notebook programs. Uninstalling the STE
will remove this program?

M

Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]

No, One Note is a separate program from the STE - it is usually installed as
a part of the Tablet PC configuration and is a full version.
