Purchasing Professional over the standard version of Visio

I need to do detailed drawings. We want a program that is easy to import into other programs to send to the head office. I want my drawings to remain intacted. I have been asked if standard would do as well as Professional. could you help me by explaining to me if Standard is capable of doing complex, detailed engineering drawings.

The difference between the products is in the shape and drawing content
available in the box. The performance and capacity of the products is the
same. Once you make a drawing, it can be opened in either product.
Professional has thousands of shapes that are designed for engineering
drawings. You will want this content unless you plan to make all your own
symbols.
