I have noted then when I do a search for text in a directory the search
engine often returns Word files that do not contain that text. On occasion I
have remembered that the text I searched for was in the file at one time but
has been since deleted. It seems that often Word just hides things I delete
rather than actually removing them. How do I purge a Word document of all
deleted text?
I had a 25 Meg document that I wanted to do this with so I attempted to save
it as RTF then open it with Word and save as a Word file. When it was done
saving as RTF, which took a very long time, the file was over 500 Meg in
size and Word would not even open it. So that method of purging did not
work.
Can anyone help here?
Thank you,
