Purple on gif

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone encountered this problem:

I have Visio Technical 5. I copy shots of maps and paste
them into the visio drawing. When I create a gif of the
visio drawing the background of the map is purple and
prints solid black. It only does this on Windows XP. On
Windows 98 it displays fine. Any idea what causes this
and a possible fix?

Thanks in advance,
Noah

Windows XP does strange things with Visio GIF filters. To create GIF files,
I do it on the adjacent (networked) PC with Win98 - I copy/paste them into
Paintshop Pro 5 and use it to create the GIF. Much better. The same
process on the XP machine is produces crap, and the "Save As ..." *.gif in
Visio 2000 on WinXP Prof is even worse.

Not sure why the OS would affect software graphics filters, but ...........

OTOH the Visio 2000 "Save As..." *.emf on WinXP Prof is very good -
excellent actually.
