pushing back a whole project

D

Dan Vesma

Dear Group,

I have a file containing multiple projects (inserted) in Project 2002.
Is there a way I can push a whole project back by say 1 week? I can do
it by moving each task one at a time, but I'm sure that there must be
a quicker way.

Any clues?

Thanks very much,

Dan

Hi Dan

if your tasks are linked to each other, then you only need to change the
start time of the project (or the start date of the first task - depending
on how you set your project up), if however, you're typed in the starting
dates of all the tasks then AFAIK you'll have to either change them manually
(or use VBA or another column with a formula and then copy & paste over the
dates you have).

let us know how you set the project up and if you'ld like more information
on any of the above.

Cheers

Hello Dan,
If you have date constraints on each task, the first thing to do will be to
learn about dependencies.
Anyway, Project 2002 and 2003 present a tool bar "Analysis" with an "Adjust
Dates" button...

Hope this helps,

Hi Gerard

good point, i'd forgotton about that button (mainly because i try and avoid
putting constaints on tasks).

in ver 98 there was an "adjust dates" macro that did basically the same
thing (tools / macro / macros), however, i'm not sure if it existed in ver
2000 or not.

Hi Julie,
I never use this button, because, me too, I avoid putting constraints on
tasks.
....
What is the weather in Australia today ?

things have cooled down a bit :)
what part of France are you in and how's the weather looking there?
