Pushing Word Templates to All Users

What is the best way to push Word templates to all users
so they get the updated set of templates that change from
time to time. I am aware that you can point Word to a
server location but 1/2 of my users are laptop that need
the templates on the road.

What is the best way to push Word templates to all users

time to time. I am aware that you can point Word to a

There are lots of ways with the choice of "best" left to you. First
thing to ensure is to standardize a location for the templates to be
stored on lan server and on laptop.s

Two ideas:
1. consider adding to login script a small program to copy the files
from the network server to the standard location. The program robocopy
(available on NT resource Kit and I think available on Microsoft's web
site somewhere) is terrific for this. There is also the programs
"unison" and "rsynch" available for download from internet which are
highly regarded.
2. consider putting them on a LAN server that is mapped to a local drive
and is included as a template dir in Word. Set them to be automatically
synchronised when a network connection is made.
