Put a jpeg picture into MSWord

I have a picture saved in MY DOCUMENTS.
It is a jpeg file and when I try to view it I just get a bunch of words.
I need to be able to get the actual picture into a MicroSoft Word file.
I'm desperate for help because the project is due out the weekend of
June 3, 2006.

JPEGs are a picture format, not intended to be *opened* in Word. You need to
use Insert | Picture | From File to insert this picture in your document. It
would make more sense to store it in My Pictures rather than My Documents.
