I'm a working mom, taking night courses at the local college. I am currently
taking the Micro-Computer Application software course. The course
concentrates mainly on 4 core programs: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access.
I downloaded the MS standard 2003 trail version on my home computer, which
was great. I was able to do most of my homework right at home except for
Access. I know that MS Office 2003 Pro has Access but I really do not need
all the other stuff that comes with Pro. So I was wondering if Microsoft had
any plans on adding Access to their Standard Edition, it would make thing
alot easier for students who are just starting to learn your programs. The
college I attend also offers this course on-line. When I found out that you
offered a trial version for 60 days, I let my professor know and he put it on
his web page throught the college,

Access is a value added program so what incentive does Microsoft have for
offering it as a part of Standard? Most people do not need Access which is
why the base version of Office is called Standard. You do know that there
is a Professional version available as a Trial download, correct?

I neither work for nor speak for Microsoft.

Microsoft Office for Students and Teachers appears to be oriented, but not
limited to, to families with K 1-12 students and their teachers. Access is
not usually need by such.

Check with your local college. Do they have a Book Store? Microsoft has an
academic licenses available for Office 2003 Professional.
