Putting hyperlinks in Outlook e-mail formatted in HTML?

I'm using Outlook 2003. I'd been using the RTF for my e-mails but switched to
HTML format because it allowed me to actually embed screenshots and other
graphics into the e-mail body.
However, it seems like I can't make a hyperlink live in HTML-formatted
e-mail. However, I can incorporate live links into RTF e-mail.
So. Is there some way to place a link in an HTML e-mail so I can incorporate
graphics and links in the same message, if necessary or do I have to trade
off between functionalities?
Thanks.

Links are live in HTML e-mails. They may appear to not be live while you are
composing the e-mail but will appear live when received.

Send yourself an e-mail with a link in it. You should find that they are
live in your received copy (and in the copy in your Sent Items folder).
