Maybe your camera would appear as an input device to Windows Media Encoder
(WME). WME is a free download from MS that allows you to encode and stream
video. You could then insert a Windows Media Player control onto a slide
and have it point to the encoder. Might be worth a try since it is all
free.
Do you have another software app for viewing your input? Example I have an
ATI All In Wonder card and if I hook my TV cable to it I can watch "TV" on
the computer. If so you can insert that application as an "Object" in PPT.
