I am attempting to display a powerpoint presentation using a big screen tv as
a moniter and it is not working well. Either it does not fill the whole
screen or the pictures are distorted. any suggestions.

You might start by setting your slide layout to be 16x9 which I think is the
dimensions for the large screen TV's.

How are you sending the computer output to the TV? Unless your TV
accepts VGA input, to do this you normally need a device called a "scan
converter" or "PC-to-TV converter". Scan converters usually have the
ability to adjust the display to zoom it in or out or move it around
the screen to compensate for the TV's over or under scanning (cropping
the edges of the image). CompUSA has lots of them:

I've a better solution BUT it seem useless to post them. If anybody want
