PWA 2003 View [compare Last Published with Last Modified]

We’re using Project Pro 2003 and Project Server 2003. Many projects are being
updated but not published. We want to devise a strategy to be able to see all
the projects where the gap between Last Modified and Last Published is
greater than one day. Is there I way I can compare these two fields in a PWA
View and only see (filter on) projects where the gap is greater than one day?
Is there a better way to do this – can it be done with a Project Pro
enterprise field, or querying the SQL tables?

The problem you will have in Project Server 2003 is that the Last Modified
date and the Last Published date will always be indentical. This is because
every time you save and close an enterprise project, the system does a
background publish of the project using Collaborate - Publish - Project
Plan. The system does this publishing operation without your knowledge or
permission. When it does the publishing operation, it does NOT publish the
assignments (Collaborate - Publish - New and Changed Assignments), however.
So, either using the Project Center or SQL Server, I don't think you will
get the information you seek.

My recommendation instead is that you make this a training and performance
issue with your project managers. Every time they update actuals into the
Microsoft Project plan, they absolutely need to do a Collaborate - Publish -
All Information publish of their project to make sure that their team
members see the absolute latest project schedule information on their PWA
timesheets. Hope this helps.
