PWA ActiveX controls

Hugh

I have users who are trying to access PWA (on Project Server 2003) for the
first time via IE7. They recieve this message:

"The controls for Project Web Access could not be downloaded correctly.
Please check your security settings in Internet Explorer or contact your
system administrator.
Return to the License Agreement page"

IE7 is suggesting that MSP 2003 SP3 is required, but this is incorrect as we
have cases where it has previously been installed, or installing it doesn't
fix the issue.

We cannot allow users to reduce their security settings or give them admin
rights (as has been suggested on this site), so we need to identify the
control in question and install it manually.

Can anyone help?

Hi Sandro,

I don't think I understand. I can't find anything called owc.exe on the
project server (or even straight "owc") although there are files such as
owc10.msi and owc11.dll. Is it something like this?

Then what am I looking for in it? Soory to be dense.

Thanks,

Hugh

It has to be "installed", as registry entries are involved. Your two
options left are:

-have support personnel log into admin service accounts on each PC,
invoke PWA, and then let the install proceed;

- Have support run off-hours maintenance, and install the controls in a
batch procedure. I can't put my hands on it, but the cab file is specified in
one of the PS 2003 guides.

Hope this helps ...!
