PWA error:No information to display MS pro server 2003

Hi,

One of the user is facing a strange problem. When he publishes a new project
it is showing up in the project center view along with other projects but he
can''t open it by clicking on the project itself. It is giving "There is no
information to display in this view. Either the project manager has not
published the project plan or there is no information in the project plan to
display." He can edit the project & can open it using the open tab with pro
2003.

One more thing.. the projects that the particular user is publishing is not
visible to any other user in the project center. But it is there in the list
of projects to clean up the project server database. As an administrator i
can delete them but can not see them in the project center.

Any help...

Thanks,
Ratnadeep

When you look at this project in the Clean Up Project Server Database page,
does the system indicate that this is a Workgroup project, by chance? Let
us know.

No it is not showing up as a workgroup project.

Additional findings: I just wanted to see if i can see it by working through
the "open ' project tab which lists all the projects that are saved in the
project server but couldn't find it there also. But it is available in the
projects list to be deleted from the server. It is frustrating. Hope it have
some fixes.

Dale,on a separate note..we have ordered two project server 2003 books from
your link.

Thanks,
Ratnadeep

Dale,

Thanks for the reference. But it contains a whole lot of data & i couldn't
figure out which one to implement .I changed the view drop security but the
issue is still there.Any idea what to do?

The configuration:

Project server 2003 with SP1,Project pro 2003 as client,SQl 2k as the
database.
I couln't update to SP2a or SP3 as it is crashing after installing those. So
we are only running with SP1 on Project server 2003 now.

On a separate note..can you please let me know the best way we can set up
the server? What all service packs & hot fixes we need to get rid of daily
frustrating issues? Any guidance on the best way of implementation of Project
server 2003?Any help will be great? I have asked this question separately but
didn't get any answer at all.So looking at you...

Thanks,
Ratnadeep

Ratnadeep:

If your system crashes after installing a service pack, I'd say that you
have a serious underlying problem. It might be best for you to backup your
database and peform a reinstall. You can obtain solid guidance on
installation from TechNet.
