I installed WSS on a different machine, used the Sharepoint Configuration
Wizard from Project Server Setup to create the Public Documents site and add
the template. I then backed up and restored the Public Documents site from
the original WSS machine along with all the other sites using the WSS admin
tool, stsadm.exe I then made the changes to the Manage Sharepoint page in
PWA to point to the new WSS installation performing all the tests before
hitting save. When I hit save after 10 seconds I get a message box with the
following:
Warning: The Project Server Public Documents site is not created with the
Project Workspace template. The Public Document feature will ot be available
in Project Web Access.
Please run the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard again.
I ran the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard again on the new server and still
got the same message when I clicked save. I then pointed PWA back to the
original WSS server and got the exact same message. I did nothing to the
original WSS machine yet it is giving me the same error when I try to point
PWA back to it.
All the WSS sites are functioning properly on both servers. I can see the
documents, risks etc. when PWA is pointing to either WSS installation. The
problem I have is trying to get to Public Documents from PWA. I can get
there easily by using the WSS URL but when using the PWA interface I get the
following message:
The documents, risks and issues features in Project Web Access use Windows
SharePoint Services.
A Windows SharePoint Services site needs to be created for your project
before you can share project documents or track project risks and issues.
Site creation takes a few minutes, so if the project was just published,
wait a few minutes and then visit the page again. Otherwise, contact your
server administrator.
I get this message by going to Documents in PWA and then clicking either the
View and Upload Public Documents or by clicking the Public Documents link in
the Projects List table. Again this occurs regardless of which WSS server I
have PWA pointing at now.
I have run the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard on both WSS servers and then
pointed PWA to each WSS and I still get the above errors.
Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks.
