PWA Grid does not appear when outside of intranet

I recently installed Project Server 2002 and can access
the PWA internally without any problems. However, I have
other users outside of our domain that can log in OK, but
cannot see any project or task data. The area where
projects appear (the grid) just shows a "Loading Data."
message and IE displays "Error on Page". Our SA has
tried everything (including suggestions on Q321357 of the
MS Knowledgebase) but the error does not go away.

This could be caused by numerous issues:

Directory security on the MDAC directory or security set on msadcs.dll, for
the latter, IP restrictions must be set to granted.

The MDAC version on your external users machine should be up to date 2.8

Browser security should be set allow access to data across domains

Google's popup blocker can kill the data grid functionality
