Stricly speaking Jorge is right. BUT!! You can use windows virtual OS software to do this. The one I'm familiar with is VMware. It basically runs a partitioned virtual operating system Windows on Solaris/Linux in your case. Once you get the virtual OS setup you can install all your windows applications on that virtual OS.
I'm at a university and "academic freedom" extends to the desktop operating system. There are plenty of non-windows users here that run VMware on Linux/Solaris for Windows apps quite successfully.
Caveat - I've never done this personally so I can't answer specific questions. However, anyone that knows Linux or Solaris very well is likely to be able to figure it out pretty quickly.
