PWA "Last Published" date not being updated consistently

client: Project Professional 2002 SP-1
backend: Project Server 2003

We have a case where after publishing a project plan to PWA, the Last
Published date value is not being updated. We are publishing via "New and
Changed Assignments" and the data is properly synchronized with PWA. The
Last Modified date IS being updated correctly for this project plan.

The Last Published date is being properly updated for all other project
plans. Does this suggest possible corruption in the case of the one project
plan whose Last Published date is not being updated?
