PWA licensing ?

We have project server 2003 installed and right now a couple of client
licenses. With PWA do you have to pay for each person using it or do
you only have to pay per client license and PWA is unlimited use?

Thanks,

Andy --

I believe you need a CAL (Client Access License) for each person who
accesses Project Web Access. Hope this helps.

I think the rule is: number of Enterprise Resource Pool resources,
minus generics, minus the number of Project 2003 Professional licenses
you own.

That is the way it has been explained, several times, by Microsoft
representatives during Project Server Deep Dives and at MPA/MPUG
meetings and it makes sense considering:

1. Generic resources don't need a CAL
2. Each license of Project Professional 2003 comes with a CAL
3. Each Enterprise Resource Pool resource needs a CAL.

CALS are not issued by name and Project Server 2003 doesn't restrict
the ERP by the CAL count like 2002 did (although this was easily gotten
around).

If you have a specific instance where you want to be sure you are in
compliance, you should contact your Microsoft rep.

Please note that this refers to Project Server CALs only. Depending on
your license status with SQL Server and Windows Server 2003, you might
need additional CALs, but for those applications and not Project
Server.
