I have a single server installation. I need to give users on another domain
the ability to see enterprse resources, create and publish project plans. I
know the correct way to implement is to follow MS's recommendation to set up
a mirror server config. Unfortunately we do not have that luxury. Managment
is willing (given FULL explaination of the risks) to open up ports to give
access to make it work.
Given that, we set up these users with Project Server IDs, have been
successful in opening port 80 for PWA access and assumed that we would need
to open the SQL port to give the Project Pro via the MSProjectUser ID access
to SQL. Unfortunately we keep getting SQL errors when trying to access the
Project Server. We have tried setting up client network connections (via SQL
client network utility) as well to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions
on getting this to work?
Please limit comments about security risks etc as you would be preaching to
the choir, as they say inthe military, "It is not mine to question why, it
is mine to do or die"
