I am faced with issue in provisioning PWA. I am using service account which
was previously used for creating PWA and has access on database server (all
rights). Communication between database and application server is not
blocked. One SSP already contains a PWA (ProjectTraining) used for
training/UAT purposes. It is uptill now working as smooth as anything. This
PWA was created last time as fresh PWA and reconfiguration was done on it.
This SSP job (ProjectServerSynchronizingJobFor<SSP>) was deleted some how and
with out which you cannot further provision any PWA on the same SSP. In order
to resolve this issue i created a new SSP with its sspadmin site, changed the
association of web application and keeping in tact the old SSP. A new PWA was
tried provisioning on new SSP under sharepoint web application. New SSP was
also made as default SSP. Provisioning failed with error 'failed - see an
event log'. Then i deleted this pwa, it deleted with success. I created a new
web application on new SSP on different port, and tried provisioning new PWA
under new web application with new SSP. Still the results were same. I tried
restarting timer services and disabling and enabling of timer jobs used on
different sequences while provisioninng. Tried resetting IIS, tried resetting
servers (both front end on NLB). I think i tried everything that i could
without hurting their production environment. But situation remains the same.
My constraint is i cannot uninstall this environment as its sharepoint thingy
is highly in production mode. Smart suggestions are required to get moving to
resolve this issue and get atleast one or more PWA provisioned.
