PWA Security out of Sync

We have the following:
MOSS 2007 farm with 2 FWS.
Project Server 2007.

Recently the security of PWA got all messed up. Before, the security of PWA
included the Project Server model for Project Managers, PWA Members, PWA
Vistors, etc.
Now all of those groups have disappeared.

How can I get Project Server to reacreate these groups and sync all the
users in Proj Server?

If you have an administrative backup, you can perform an administrative
restore of category and group settings (assuming you've not backed up the
groups in their current state)

If you don't have an administrative backup, your options are:-

Recreate them manually (this is not as bad as it sounds if the templates
are in tact and you're using AD sync for the security groups)
Restore the SQL databases (and therefore loosing all changes since the backup)

Negative on the admin backup for categories and groups.
By manual restoration, do you mean using the PWA site settings User and
Groups and manually create groups and populate? Or is there a different way
to manually do this from PWA Server Settings?

Yes I mean manually recreating the groups. You can validate the settings by
creating a new instance and comparing them between two windows.
