PWA Settings in Categories

The person who did our MS Project Server/PWA Install left a bunch of
documentation - but when setting up Group and Category permissions, only
Allowed some. He did not disallow others.

Is it a 0 or 1 proposition that the functionality is either on when allowed
or off when denied ? What is the default when NOTHING is checked in either
radio box ?

It's usually a sign of good install / configuration that there are few,
if any Denys set. When Deny is set, that's an explicit denial of that
feature or function. When Allow is set, that's an explicit approval to
use the feature or function. When neither is set, it's called "Not
Allowed" but think of it as "It Depends"

For example: As PM, you have the ability to do something (like Save
Baseline). But you are also a Resource Manager and we don't want
resource managers saving baselines. So the resource manager
permissions are set to not allow and PMs is set to allow. If a RM
tries to set the baseline, they can't. The PM can. A PM who is also
an RM can. So, it depends on your role.

When Deny is set at the top level (PWA > Admin > Server Configuration >
Features then that feature / function is denied for everyone. So if
you set Save Baseline to Deny there - no one will be able to save the
baseline, even if you give them an explicit "Allow".
