PWA Stop light view of Project Health

I am looking for info/ideas on what other companies use to measure Project
health with the red/yellow/green indicators in PWA? If possible a sample of
the code used for the indocator. We do not have much technical support here
and the calculations would be great. Thansk for all the advise and
information.

That's an ok example if you only base project health on finish
variance. The problem with that formula is it leaves tasks that were
supposed to start in the past, but haven't, as green. It also doesn't
take into account budget, risks, or resource staffing. Does anyone
have any ideas on any of these other calculations?

If you are rescheduling incomplete work you shouldn't have any remaining work
in the past, so the finish variance will change the color to yellow and then
red as the work is rescheduled and the finish variance grows regardless of
whether the task has started or not.

Mike:

You can use the formula for a model to create a status based on any variance
you can detect or that is automatically calculated by the system. As Darrell
points out, the concern you express is only a consideration when system
users are not tracking their projects correctly. Beyond that, there is no
"correct" way to measure variance as what matters to each company varies
more than the projects we track.<g>
