PWA Tasks page won't load over SSL VPN

Project Server 2003, SP2.

We can use PWA fine from the internal network. When trying to access
over an Aventail SSL VPN, we can load the Projectserver home page fine.
But when you click on the Tasks page, it starts to load, but then
throws you back to the home page.

It is consistent for all users and PC's. The same PC that can access
PWA fine in the office will experience this issue trying to access
Tasks over SSL VPN.

There is a firewall between Project server and SSL, however nothing is
being dropped there.

The Aventail log shows only this error: GET
http://soproject.sclhs.net/Projec tServer/Styles/1033/PWAGrid.cs s
HTTP/1.1 with a Status 404 (Not Found)

I've tweaked the Aventail settings with no luck. I thought it was a
permissions error on the server, even though the Aventail is passing
the user credentials, but I have not found it if it is.

Any thoughts??

Mary:

Something along the way is interfering with the data call. This is the
behavior we see when the grid object can't communicate to the database.

Thank you for the reply. We have our Project SQL database on a
different server than ProjectServer. Does the client need to contact
the SQL server directly? I have not seen that happening in network
traces.

I'm wondering if the SSL is somehow changing the commands back to the
server.

It works using Check Point's SSL VPN and I have SQL on a separate server. I
do not allow the SQL server specifically to the SSL VPN users.
