PWA - WSS User Synch

Ok, the user synch between a project and it's associated WSS site appears to
be working fine. It works for 10 of 11 current projects - WSS picks up the
Reader group, the contributor group, etc and gives the proper users the
proper rights. On ONE project, WSS only picks up the Readers and the Project
Managers from Project Server. There are a dozen people from the ERP who have
tasks assigned to them in this project, but they do not get assigned the
Contributor group.

No matter how many times we re-synch from PWA, Admin, Sharepoint Sites, we
get the same result. Synch reports a success, but the odd behavior persists.

Any thoughts on further troubleshooting? Thanks in advance!

Matt,

The Contributor group is NOT used by project server for WSS permissions. Project server has its own set of groups/roles for its Sharepoint permissions. None of our WSS users have Contributor roles assigned to them.

What we typically do is use the Team Member role for most of our folks. They have the ability to add/delete/edit/view everything they need to. Project managers get the Project Manager role and this seems to work pretty well for us.

Hi Earl, thanks for your response.

I used the wrong terminology when describing the problem. WSS is not
picking up the 'Team Member' role from Project Server. So the people who are
designated as team members do not get the proper rights assigned in WSS.

I mistakenly said 'contibutor' because those are the subset of rights that a
Team Member should have.

We are going to remove this project from Project Server and WSS and
re-import and re-create the site to see if this fixes the issue.
Regards,
Matt
