PWS for XP Pro

I authored several web sites 3-4 years ago using FP 2000 using NT and then
Win 2000.

I moved off of those platforms and now am on XP Pro. (Still using FP 2000)
I was using PWS as an internal staging environment. Once I had consensus I
published the sites on the Internet using a commercial ISP.

I understand that PWS is not the desired approach for XP and IIS is
recommended, and is part of Pro. How can I get this installed and
configured. I would like to install it on an external networked drive so
all users on the network would have access to each of the different sites.

I looked around on the MS site and found references to installing this with
Add/Remove programs but this is an IBM pre-installed system and I cannot
locate any components of IIS.

Any help is appreciated.

IIS is a service, and installs on the C drive, just like the
rest of the OS. Installation is regardless of who installed
windows. Once in the add/remove dialog box, you need to go
into the Windows Components box.

IIS Managed sites can be located anywhere on the network,
you just need to tell IIS where the site is
