Q Automating Acrobat PDFMaker with VBA

C

Christopher Mackie

I would like to batch-produce a set of PDFs from a set of Word documents.
I've got Adobe PDFMaker (Acrobat 6.0) installed. I can figure out how to
batch-print files, and batch-print to the PDFMaker, but I'm not sure how to
handle the step where you have to choose a 'save as' filename for the PDF.

Does anyone know a way to do this? I'm running Office 2003. Tx, --Chris

Hi Christopher,

I just did this exact kind of thing...

Just go in the Acrobat options (from the Word "Adobe PDF" menu, "Change
Conversion Settings") and uncheck "Prompt for ADobe PDF file name". PDF
documents with the same name as the Word source documents will be produced
in the same folder.

As easy as that!

Cheers!

I could never locate that option, neither in WORD nor in ADOBE
Can you please walk us thru the step, if you don't min

Thanks

Hi there,

Like I said:

In Word:
Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings...
in the dialog box that appears:
Settings Tab > uncheck "Prompt for ADobe PDF file name"

If you do not have the Adobe PDF menu in Word, make sure that "PFMaker.dot"
is in the Start up folder
(Tools > Template and Add-ins...)

HTH
Cheers!
