Q/Bug: Printout of Visio figure is different from what's on the sc

(I posted this message originally in the "Visio General Questions" forum.)

Hi All,

I have a Word document (which contains proprietary and confidential info; so
I can't send it out tothe newsgroup) with lots of Visio figures in it.

At least in one diagram, the printer print-out looks different from what I
saw on the computer screen.

I know that there is a known issue that when a Visio diagram/file is changed
and saved in Visio software, and then copy and paste or insert the figure
into Word again, the updated version of the diagram may NOT show up in Word
if you do not close the Visio file first.
However, even in this case, what's on the screen is still the old version of
the diagram, and the print-out is consistent with what's on the screen.

The new problem I expereienced is that what's on the screen is not
consistent with the print-out.
I am not the editor of the document, and therefore, I don't know how the
Visio figure was edited or how it was "inserted" or "copy and pasted" to the
Word document.

Does anyone experience the same?

I was able to fix the problem by "right click" the Visio figure in Word,
then choose "Visio Object" -> "Convert". After that, the print-out looks the
same as the screen.
Do I have to do this for each figure?
Does anyone know a better word aorund?

(I am using Visio 2002 and Word 2002. I don't know which version of Visio
and Word were used to create the document as I am not the editor.)

Thanks.

Tony
