Hi,
I've recone the database I was working on, making the form based on a
query, instead of the tables.
So far, so good. I did this change, according to something I read in
a book, which I pondered buying (and didn't - just too many out there.
Can't decide which writing style agrees with my 'reading digestion' ).
One major change:
Instead of having a main form, and a subform within a subform, I just
have a main form and two subforms on the same "plane".
When I click on "last record", it takes my database a 'normal' time
for what Im used to , to get to the last record.
However, when I click on 'first record", I get the "Calculating"
message, and takes considerable time to get back to the first. record.
The query which drives the form is based on 3 tables. Is that "too
many" tables to have in a query, which is causing the 'prolonged'
"Calculating" message ?
If there's nothing that can be done about that, given my new set up, I
think I can live with it (if not I'll go back to my original one).
Thanks,
Jim
