How can I work out Unit costs by Quantity to get a final value?

Say one item costs £7.50 per unit and you need 10 of the, then the total
would be £75. So In need three colums: one for unit costs, one for quantity
and one for total costs

Hello MP,

Have you considered using material resources? Assuming you are using
Project 2000 or greater, you can define material resources on the
Resource sheet -- set the type to "material". You can set a cost per
unit and then assign 10 units of the resource to the task. Project
will handle the math.

If you prefer, you can use spare cost and number fields to do the
calculations. Insert two spare cost fields (Cost1 and Cost2) and one
Number field (Number1) in the task table (Insert >Column). Create a
custom formula (Tools > Customize Fields) for the Cost2 field:

[Cost1]*[Number1]

That formula will multiply the values you enter in the cost1 and
number1 fields and display the result in the Cost2 field.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
