If I have a hotel rate in colum c and in colum d I need the 15 percent rate
of the amount in colum d how do you do that in access?

The term I am using is weekly rate for d
and weekly discount rate for c
I have tried "build" and that does not give me an answer and I tried
"zoom"
it would be great to get some help please.

That's a very confusing question. Are you sure the c and d
are not mixed up somewhere in there?

Try setting the calculated week discount field in the query
to something like:

[Weekly Rate]: .85 * [Hotel Rate]
